Speculation is growing that the Renewable Energy Target will be scrapped following the release of a review later this month. Although Finance Minister Mathias Cormann has denied that it will be abolished, climate experts remain concerned that the target will be scaled back – a move which would cost the renewable energy sector $8 billion in investment. However, consumers remain in the dark about what this will mean for their electricity bills.
