Since Nanna’s frozen berries have been linked to Hepatitis A infections, there have been calls for more stringent food labelling legislation. But what about the food safety standards that control what products make it to supermarket shelves? Currently, berries are given a low-risk ranking, with only five percent of imports selected for random screening. And this was only to test chemical residue, not pathogens.
