As Australia heads into summer, our shores will once again face an onslaught of backpackers, here to travel the country and have the time of their lives. While they’re here, they tend to get around in more ways than one. Up to 50% of young travellers have a casual relationship while in Australia, and unsafe sex practices can be a concerning but easily preventable problem. A new awareness campaign launched today by the Family Planning Association of NSW aims to spread the word on preventing sexual infections. Dr Linda Dayan, Director of Northern Sydney Sexual Health talked about the ‘Safe in the Sack’ campaign and sexual risks faced by backpackers travelling to Australia.
