The COVID-19 crisis has been very challenging for everyone, but regional, rural, and remote areas have been the most affected. The pandemic is showing not only how disadvantaged Australians in these areas are, but how unemployment and health are triggering uncertainty in these communities.

The National Rural Health Alliance is calling for the Federal government to extend JobSeeker and JobKeeper to businesses and workers in rural, regional, and remote areas, and to extend it to more workers, like regional casual workers, who are a big part of their economies.

The economy has not only being affected in these communities, but health services are scarce and understaffed.

Along with other organisations, the National Rural Health Alliance has created a statement to restart economies in regional areas.
