The Wire

It is often said that the rich just get richer but how true is it? Very true, according to the results of a recent study comparing incomes back as far as 1921. It found while the gap between the rich and poor remained much the same throughout most of the twentieth century, it has since widened dramatically in the last thirty years. The Wire spoke with Australian National University economist, Professor Andrew Leigh and asked him why the gap between the rich and the rest continues to widen.
