Restaurants claim penalty rates are making them go bust

Last year penalty rates for café and restaurant workers were pulled in to line under the Fair Work Act. Now, the Restaurant and Catering Association has released findings they say prove the move is hurting businesses. CEO John Hart says that he has data showing that productivity is down since the decision. But while he claims businesses are struggling to stay afloat, the government has responded saying the Fair Work Act continues to deliver in a variety of areas, including moderate wages growth in the private sector.
