The remote town of Aurukun on Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula is facing an education crisis.

The school closed last month after the principle faced multiple attacks.

Noel Pearson, whose Cape York Academy Program contracted the school, has said the community is suffering from law enforcement issues

A review is underway at the school to determine the best course of action.

David O’Sullivan spoke to Kevin Bates, President of the Queensland Teachers Union, to discuss issues surrounding education in the Cape.
