Researchers hope to build climate-resilient coral through science

This week as a heatwave grips vast areas of central and northern Queensland, corals have been spawning in reefs across the coast.

While some top scientists have raised concerns about the affect of the heat on health of the reef, efforts are under way at the Australian Institute of Marine Science to find ways to make corals more climate resistant in the future.
