As war and conflict continues across the world, millions are forcibly displaced from their homes every year.

According to the Australian Refugee Council, Australia alone is set to see 1 million refugees since World War II by late 2025.

But, an academic in Law and Justice says Australian policies around asylum claims and refugee status determination need to change, calling for the integration of cultural heritage in these assessments.
