Reproductive health push as government funds women’s health strategy

Advocates and groups hope to include a holistic view of women's health in the strategy.

This week, Minister for Health Greg Hunt, announced the federal government will invest $18 million dollars in women’s health research for its Women’s Health National Strategy 2020-2030. This is a step forward to women’s wellbeing.

However, reproductive health choices are way overlooked, and advocates would like the Strategy to include several issues affecting women, such as abortion, unattended pregnancy, gender violence, and depression.

This strategy is expected to be published at the end of this year for public discussion. Will it cover all the issues women face?
