Bureacracies everywhere are under fire for how they handle issues of child protection. There’s no shortage of tales of children taken from caring parents or left with bad ones with often tragic results. In South Australia the Layton Report a year ago had a big impact and many promises were made about how the system would change. A year on the problems continue and the local Democrats today marked the year of inaction with a Call to Action. Professor Freda Briggs told the gathering that the justice system was largely to blame.
