Report recommends diversifying the climate movement
Climate justice collective Sapna South Asian Climate Solidarity released a report late last year highlighting the need to diversify narratives around the climate movement and acknowledge the links between the Global North and South. Climate researcher and activist Dr. Ruchira Talukdar authored the report by speaking with and foregrounding the stories of several Australian climate activists from South Asian backgrounds.
Dr. Talukdar speaks with The Wire about the significance of this kind of research and what migrant perspectives, beyond tokenisation, can bring to the climate justice movement. Dr Talukdar begins by summarising the findings of the report.
