Tomorrow is International FASD Awareness Day, and despite countries like Canada and the US having a comprehensive approach to the disorder, Australia still lags behind. FASD, or foetal alcohol spectrum disorder, is the umbrella term used to describe a range of physical, developmental and behaviour issues that stem from exposure to alcohol in the womb. Australia has yet to acknowledge the disorder as a disability, and the issue is before yet another standing committee.
