Under discussion this year has been the funding changes that will see remote broadcasting organisations have to compete for a pool of money. QRAM Black Star network coordinator Gilmore Johnston says the sector has decided to treat the change as an opportunity.

The annual Remote Indigenous Media Festival is being held this week in Bamaga on the tip of Cape York. Apart from a welcome get together of media makers used to working alone in far flung parts of the country, the Festival is a chance to discuss policy that affects broadcasting.
