A group of refugees have been protesting outside Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ office in South Brisbane.

The group is demanding the Federal government grant them permanent residency after spending more than TEN years on bridging visas.

The system, meant to “fast-track” applications for refugee status and permanent visas, has led to thousands of people living in limbo for the past decade.

Naz was 28 when she fled Iran to Australia with her three children, and 13 years later, she finally received her residency.
