Yesterday, 14 refugees formally complained to the Commonwealth Ombudsman to urgently inspect the detention centres and hotels where refugees are located.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, the group of refugees complain about lack of space to observe physical distancing and have safe practices to avoid a coronavirus outbreak. Some of the refugees have chronic health conditions such as heart conditions and diabetes.
The best way to avoid a COVID-19 outbreak is that refugees are within the community, according to the Public Interest Advocacy Centre.
