Kevin Andrews, the immigration minister announced yesterday that Australia will not allow any African refugees into Australia under the humanitarian refugee program until at least July next year due to their inability to settle into Australian life. Places reserved for African refugees will instead go to Iraqi and Burmese people. The Refugee Council of Australia is dismayed by the comments made by Mr Andrews saying they undermine the governments refugee program.
