World peace. Every Miss Universe wants to achieve it in a year, every student for their next assignment. But where to start? With the United Nations perhaps? These were the hot topics at a discussion entitled.. ‘Reforming the UN System: Capacity for Change?’, held at the University of NSW last week. The panelists included Associate Professor Chris Hammer, President of the World Citizens’ Association in Australia, and Mr Andrew Grieg, member of the Council of the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney. They shared their views on democracy, global governance and threats to world security. Paula Hanasz asked the audience for their thoughts on what’s wrong with the world today.
