Imagine an instrument that can measure peoples’ attitudes towards reconciliation and act as an indicator of how we see ourselves and where we aspire to be as Australians. The Reconciliation barometer is a national research survey designed to provide a snap-shot of Australian attitudes on reconciliation. The Barometer explores how we see and feel about ourselves and each other and how these perceptions affect progress towards closing the gap. Hannah Chipperfield asked the CEO of Reconciliation Australia, Paul O’Callaghan, what indigenous people think of non-indigenous Australians and vice versa.
