Federal Employment Minister, Kevin Andrews, has announced his intention to get more Indigenous Australians off the Commonwealth Development Employment Project (CDEP) and into what he calls real jobs. National Indigenous Council Member Wesley Aird is proposing a 5 year limit on CDEP participants.Western Australian member for Kimberley Carol Martin has criticised the idea of withholding welfare payments because people won’t take certain jobs as going against the Social Security Act.
