The Australian Human Rights Commission released a report highlighting the increasing rates of suicide and self-harm affecting children. The report shows a 657% increase in the number of deaths due to intentional self-harm between children aged 12-13 years and those aged 14-15 years. The Wire spoke with National Children’s Commissioner Megan Mitchell to talk about why these rates are increasing, and what can be done to address the issue.
