R U OK?’s Online Campaign Continues to Educate the Community

COVID-19 has had an extremely negative impact on the mental health of Australian’s. A study by Monash University found that the majority of those examined since lockdown showed mild levels of anxiety and depression, whilst 30% displayed moderate to high levels .

Even prior to lockdown, an average of 8 people take their lives each day in Australia, which equates to over 3,000 per year. R U OK? is a non-profit organisation centred on stopping people from suiciding and they facilitate the annual R U OK?Day campaign.

Despite being forced to market entirely online, early indications suggest that the campaign’s unique strategy may provide hope during a worrisome time.
