Artists have just found out how applications will be assessed under Arts Minister George Brandis’ new funding program. The guidelines to the National Program for Excellence in the Arts prize ideas that can get funding from the private sector and generate significant audience interest. While that might sound ok, many in the sector say the rules effectively take money from emerging artists and put it in the pockets of established organisations.
