Queensland will stop funding disability advocacy services in 2021

From 30 June, the Queensland government will stop giving $4.9 million dollars to disability advocacy services, becoming the only jurisdiction in Australia on not funding it.

The Queensland Disability Advocacy Alliance has created a campaign called Stand With Us, to ask the Palaszczuk government to continue funding critical services to more than 6,000 Queenslanders with disabilities. The Alliance states that the Queensland government is hypocritical when speaking about creating jobs and advocating for a human rights act, but taking the disability advocacy funding away for essential services.
