The Abbott government appears to edging closer to implementing its “one-stop shop” policy for the approval of large-scale mining and resource projects. Under the policy, the Federal Environment Minister delegates decision-making to state Ministers by accrediting decisions made under state environmental processes as if he had done them himself. Queensland is seeking powers to assess matters of national environmental significance.
