Changes to Queensland’s liquor laws were finally passed in parliament on Thursday morning. The legislation received the leverage it needed to pass, due to a shift in stance from members of the Katter’s Australia party. The changes in the law includes venues no longer being able to serve alcohol past 3 in the morning. Furthermore, venues are no longer able to accept new customers after 1. Venue owners are worried that these changes pose as a financial threat to their establishments, as well as cause additional stress for their employees.
