Since the Newman government relaxed land clearing regulations the rate of native bush destruction has escalated alarmingly, with serious implications for carbon emissions and the Great Barrier Reef. Now with laws to reverse the Newman changes waiting to be passed by the Queensland parliament, some farmers are openly defying attempts to curtail their bulldozing.
