Queensland Government returns land to Waka Waka people

Further south in Queensland, the Waka Waka community from Gayndah has been given freehold title to over 3,000 square kilometers of land. The Queensland Government has praised Indigenous and non-Indigenous members of the community for working together to process the hand-over. It’s part of a wider program that’s seen a Bora ring handed back to traditional owners at Kingaroy, as well as bigger hand-backs in Cape York and Wiepa.
