Queensland government ‘plan for a plan’ on homosexual convictions

On Wednesday the Queensland government announced a plan for a plan to deal with the criminal records of men convicted of crimes when homosexuality was illegal. Attorney General Yvette D’Arth is directing the Queensland Law Reform Commission to investigate the best ways to expunge those records. It comes after a research paper by the LGBTI Legal Service and other community legal centres last year which recommended a panel be set up to assess applications from men convicted under past crimes.
