Qantas CEO Alan Joyce today defended his decision to move significant operations of the Qantas Group to Asia – a move which Qantas says will result in the loss of 1000 jobs in Australia. The decision has caused an uproar from unions, some MP’s and from members of the public, who are disappointed at seeing a national icon move jobs offshore. But Alan Joyce says not changing will resulting Qantas going the way of Ansett.
