The bill is being discussed after years of hearing at the royal commission

After years of hearing at the royal commission for child sexual abuse, finally a bill is introduced in the Australian Parliament. It is the first bill of its kind in the world because it bring two types of survivor groups.

However, the monetary payment scheme is unclear, and experts on the topic are concerned about how this scheme could create a social gap between the groups. A corrective plan is needed to avoid the gap and survivors can obtain this payment on a case-to-case basis.
