The Reserve Bank was expected to cut interest rates but they’ve defied expectations and left rates on hold at 4.25 percent. On the first sitting day of parliament for the year, representatives from Australians for Affordable Housing have headed to Canberra to hand politicians a list of things they’d like to see prioritized in the budget.
They’re keen to see an increase in rent assistance, and urgent funding for the construction of affordable housing.
