When you go to a public toilet in Australia, most of the time you will have to choose whether to go into the male or female loo. But what happens if your gender isn’t so easily defined? In the US, several bills have been put forward that forbid transgender people from using the public bathroom of their choice, with criminal penalties if they choose the wrong one. Here in Australia there are mixed views about how we should approach the issue of who we allow to use which WC.
