Since 2009 Western Australian public schools have been turning independent, and now nearly two thirds of the state’s public schools are independent. This reform is now being turned to the rest of the country, as Education Minister Christopher Pyne wants a quarter of the nation’s public schools to become independent in the next three years. But how does an independent public school operate? Zoe Ferguson joined host Tim Roxburgh in the studio to discuss the Independent Public Schools Initiative.
