Crazy as it may seem the next big thing in trade agreements, the Trans-Pacific Trade agreement, could be reponsible for a hike in costs for our prescription medication. The US does not agree with our policy for patents or our PBS system, and certain concessions could end up being made. Large pharmaceutical conglomerates want to extend their patents, and may end up with the right to sue to recover profits lost through our governement’s public health policy – how could this be? We find out.
