This week media crews descended on country Victoria to report on the tragedy unfolding at the Kerang rail crossing disaster. Within hours of the accident, interviews with witnesses, survivors and their friends and family were being broadcast across the country and the world. Such tragedies always raises the question “Does the media help of hinder in the grieving process.” Christopher Hall – Director of the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement explained that the media plays both a negative and positive role.
