It’s been 8 years since a group of refugees have been in indefinite detention asking for asylum. Since then, their physical and mental health have been deteriorating. Around 2 years ago, the Federal government moved the group to an accommodation facility in Brisbane.

With the COVID-19 crisis, they are not allowed to social distancing and these refugees were out of a detention centre thanks to the Medivac law. The only option given to them from the Federal government is to return to their home countries.

A group in Brisbane will continue protesting to release refugees and asylum seekers into the community.
