Anti-government demonstrations in Iraq have escalated overnight with a health official reporting the death toll at seven in the last two days.

Protestors took to the streets on Tuesday over unemployment, corruption and poor public services, clashing with riot squads and rapid-intervention forces who used water cannons, tear gas and live bullets to disperse the crowd.

Currently, Baghdad is under curfew until further notice and internet access has been disabled across most of the country.
