The Federal Government has announced a string of changes to the Privacy Act that it will take to the upcoming election.

Tougher penalties for serious breaches of the Act and increased resources for the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner are among the proposed changes.

Chair of the Australian Privacy Foundation David Vaile thinks more still needs to be done

in order to ensure the protection of our online privacy.
