New York based Kohlberg Kravis Roberts now owns half of Seven Media it was announced yesterday. The $4 billion deal with the Private equity Firm means that Seven Networks Kerry Stokes will have plenty of cash to invest when Senator Helen Coonan’s cross media laws go through next year. Because private equity firms aren’t publicly owned, there is little public or media scrutiny of their actions. The Wire asks ‘just whose money are they playing with and what does it mean for average Australians?’
