Aboriginal families across Australia find access to mainstream pre-schools challenging. Early childhood education experts say there is an endemic lack of trust and engagement with Aboriginal culture and community that keeps people away. Jan Wright is the founder of the national Ngroo Education Mentoring Program – which has developed a model that aims to teach pre-schools how to break down the barriers and encourage more indigenous kids to enrol.
