Powerful storm hits Queensland: $2 Billion recovery battle

Queensland’s south-east and far north are grappling with the aftermath of back-to-back natural disasters, with a recovery cost exceeding $2 billion, according to state Treasurer Cameron Dick.

The devastation resulted from powerful storms hitting the Gold Coast, Logan, and Scenic Rim on Christmas and New Year’s Day, accounting for three-quarters of the total damage bill.
