Alaska’s Indigenous population are being poisoned… and Shawna Larson, Environmental Justice Program Director of the Alaska Community Action on Toxics has travelled to Geneva to raise the alarm. Persistent Organic pollutants, or POPs are the culprits. They leak into the sea and the air from pesticides and other chemicals, and are having a huge impact on both the environment and people’s health. Shawna told The Wire why people in the Arctic are more at risk from these pollutants.
