Fiddling while Rome burns…moving the deck chairs on the Titanic – that ‘s what well known environmental thinker Clive Hamilton says our politicians are doing about the threat of climate change approaches. He’s been particularly incensed by Malcolm Turnbull’s suggestion this week that a baseline and credit scheme could be the answer to letting the coal industry carry on as usual. Clive Hamilton, who is professor of Ethics at Charles Sturt University says a parliamentary democracy is really incapable of responding adequately to the climate crisis. He is accusing Parliament of sabotaging the country’s future.
