Political killings continue in the Philippines

Philippines Party Bayan Muna alleges 716 people have been killed and 176 abducted or missing in what the Party calls a “systematic happening that is sanctioned by the Government”. In response to the deaths, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has ordered the Department of Justice and the Philippines National Police to solve ten killings in ten weeks. However, Philippines Congress Representative Joel Virador from Bayan Muna and KMU Workers Alliance member, Angelina Ladera, who were in Australia recently, say that the Government is sanctioning the killings.
