Political donations – New push for immediate transparency

The Electoral commissions report issued today shows some big changes in support for the Liberal party. The Palmer United Party seems to get a lot of donations from Mr Palmer’s own corporations, even though some could ill afford to do so. Senator Lee Rhiannon says the Greens have a bill before the Senate to reform the process, whilst Senator Nick Xenaphon has long campaigned for larger donations to be immediately available on the website, particularly during an election.
