The electioneering in Queensland has gone up a gear with only two weeks left before polling day. So far much of the campaign has taken the form of a personal slanging match rather than a substantial policy debate. Many commentators say that its difficult to split the two major parties in many policy areas. Big controversies in the state – like coal seam gas development and privatization of public assets – have received scant attention.
