Protesters against a controversial gas hub site in the Kimberley were dispersed by police today. Woodside Petroleum is the main company behind the proposed operations for liquefied natural gas. They’ve been met with fierce resistance from the locals – who’ve been blocking the site for 30 days. A stand off between police and activists at James Price Point led to 10 people being arrested. Those removed from the site reportedly included an elderly Indigenous woman who was forcibly carried away in her wheelchair.
