Plastic pollution in Australian seas harming animals and humans

A report released this week shows every square-kilometre of Australia’s sea surface is polluted with 4,000 tiny pieces of plastic.

The research was conducted through the University of Western Australia and the CSIRO.Of the 57 locations the researchers examined, more than 90 per cent were contaminated.Marine conservationists say the toxic plastics are killing animals and leading to population decline.
