British scientists from the University of Portsmouth lead by Professor John McGeehan have stumbled across a “super” enzyme whilst researching a Japanese discovery from 2016 of bacteria that could eat plastic.
Could this be the answer to plastic mountains and swirling ponds of plastic detritus in the North Pacific?
